Configure Custom Install Prompt Message

Encourage your store visitors to install your app with a fully customizable install prompt — tailored separately for Android and iOS users.

We offer three display options to match your store’s style and user experience.

You can choose from one of the following:

1. Mini Info Bar

A lightweight, single-line message displayed at the bottom of the website.

• Content: Title only (max 30 characters)
• Install Button: ❌ Not shown (on both Android & iOS)
• Ideal for: Subtle install reminders with minimal disruption

2. Enhanced Info Bar

A larger horizontal bar with more text and a clear call-to-action.

• Content: Title, Description, Install Button
• Install Button: ✅ Android only / ❌ iOS
• Ideal for: Gently nudging users to install without interrupting the shopping experience

3. Install Modal

A centered popup that captures full attention for the installation prompt.

• Content: Title, Multiple Benefits, Install Button
• Install Button: ✅ Android only / ❌ iOS
• Ideal for: Maximising installation conversions with a bold presentation

How to Update Your Install Prompt

Follow these steps from the admin panel to update your display type and content.

Step-by-Step:

1. Open the App Dashboard

   Go to your installed app inside the Shopify admin panel.

   Click on ‘Install Popups’ in the sidebar

   This section lets you configure install prompts for both Android and iOS.

   Choose Platform: Android / iOS

   You’ll see separate sections. Each platform can be configured independently.

   Select Display Style

   Choose between:

   • Mini Info Bar
   • Enhanced Info Bar

   • Install Modal

     Enter Content Fields

     Based on the selected style, fill in the relevant fields:

   • Mini Info Bar: Title (max 30 characters)
   • Enhanced Info Bar: Title + Description + Install Button (Android only)
   • Install Modal: Title + Multiple Benefits + Install Button (Android only)

2. Click Save

   Your changes will apply instantly.

iOS Limitations

Due to Apple’s restrictions:

• iOS does not allow automatic install triggers

  Install buttons are not shown on iOS

  Instead, we display guidance for manual installation:

  • Open in Safari → Tap Share → Add to Home Screen

The app handles this automatically — no extra setup required.

Tips for Best Results

• Keep titles short and benefit-oriented (e.g., Install our app for faster checkout)
• Use the Install Modal for major promotions or launches
• Use Mini Info Bar for consistent passive visibility
• Use different content for Android and iOS to improve clarity

You can control when your customers see install pop-ups by setting up custom triggers.

Sometimes, when your phone has already cached your store, the install pop-up won't be shown. This is because once we show the pop-up, we don't show it again for a while as it can intrude on the user experience. All you need to do is to clear the cache, access your shop again, and the prompt should show up.
