How long does it take for Google to index my AMP pages?

Google normally indexes most AMP pages within 1-7 days depending on how often Google crawls your sites.  Google will queue your AMP page for indexing once it crawls your equivalent non-AMP page, this mean that your amp pages will be gradually visible as Google goes through its indexing process. The process is something like this:

  1. Google crawls your store pages as they do normally
  2. Google sees specific <meta> tags on the non-AMP page, which indicate that an AMP version of that page exists. (The meta tags are not visible to your users / visitors)
  3. Google then crawls the AMP version
  4. Google indexes the AMP version

If you are having trouble after 2 weeks, it's likely because Google is not crawling your non-AMP pages.

To check if Google has indexed your AMPed pages, check your site in Google Search Console. It tells you which of your AMP pages have been indexed and and provides insights into the data that Google has about your shop. You can also find details about when Google last crawled your pages which gives you an idea of the frequency with which it crawls your pages.
